Dave Rainwater’s new one-man show:
“Catgut Strings & Rattlesnake Tales”
As “The Huckleberry of the West”, he’s a singing fiddling, comedic storyteller, with a mission to “change the world, one fiddle tune at a time”. From the shores of early colonial Virginia, to the California goldfields, Dave takes you on a fiddler’s journey. This is a wild wacky, funny show and a lively fiddler’s journey, revealing fascinating insights into the development of America’s own original music. He will use many stories poems, historical anecdotes and original tunes, to portray unique insights into the development of America’s own folklore and music. The show is great for family members of all ages.
Dave has toured with the New Christy Minstrels, appeared with Barry McGuire in the acclaimed PBS television special “This Land Is Your Land, and recorded with Michael Martin Murphy. He played with The Piney Creek Weasels and the Foothillbillys. He has fiddled throughout the West at many festivals, weddings, wakes, cook-offs, parades and dances. He currently plays Irish music with the Black Irish Band, and often appears as a strolling fiddler on the Railtown train.
