Theatrical Shows

Painting Churches

by Tina Howe

The Churches are definitely not your ordinary family. In fact, you could say they give new meaning to the word "eccentric". In this wonderful comic drama, opening at Stage 3 Theatre Company on Friday, January 24, daughter Margaret, painter on the brink of fame , arrives to help her flaky, hat-sporting mother and absent-minded father move out of the family homestead. As the boxes are packed, old memories are re-awakened and this unlikely trio comes to grips with their past, present and future. What emerges is a family portrait (literally and figuratively) that is zany, heartwarming, heartbreaking and true.

Flights of Fancy

by Suzanne Wingrove

Stage 3 Theatre Company in Sonora has a national reputation for finding the freshest and brightest new plays. Its latest offering, Flights of Fancy, is a dazzling display of comic virtuosity by a rising new star of American Theatre, playwright Suzanne Wingrove - two-time winner of Stage 3's prestigious Festival of New Plays.

Lettice and Lovage

by Peter Shaffer

Start with "The Odd Couple", mix in a heaping measure of Don Quixote, sprinkle liberally with plenty of Lucy and Ethel and you have a pretty good idea of what's in store for you at Stage 3 Theatre Company's production of "Lettice and Lovage" .

Light Up the Sky

by Moss Hart

"Theatre is not so much a profession as a disease." quipped Moss Hart. And he should know. The Pulitzer Prize-winning author of such great American comedies "You Can't Take it with You" and "The Man Who Came to Dinner" also directed the original productions of "My Fair Lady" and "Camelot".

Over the River and through the Woods

by Joe DiPietro

They say the only thing permanent in life is change. Sometimes that's good. Sometimes that's bad. Sometimes, as in Stage 3's family holiday offering of "Over the River and through the Woods", change can be devastatingly funny, achingly heartbreaking and poignantly revealing.
