About Stage 3 Theatre Company
From the most humble beginnings in 1993, Stage 3 Theatre Company has
evolved into one of the region’s powerhouses.
The Stockton record called Stage 3 “The best thing to happen to this
region
in many years”. “Stage 3 dazzles”, said the Union Democrat. “Breathtaking
theater”, declares the Modesto Bee. According to the Lodestar, “Stage
3 is the
jewel in the crown of regional theater”.
You will see what makes Stage 3 special the minute you step through the front
doors and into our “funky elegant” Great Room. We open one hour before every
performance so that our patrons can enjoy the artwork and a glass of wine,
while we treat you to live music. The Great Room is also where we present
an ongoing
Music @ Stage 3 series of special evenings showcasing the best musicians of the region.
The theater itself is Black box style with just 85 seats
surrounding the stage on 3 sides. Doors to the theater open 1/2 hour before
the performance. We have open seating. In this intimate setting you will experience
what our Artistic Director, Don Bilotti calls “theater of the unexpected,
daring
enough to make a point and accessible enough to make a difference. We
believe in theater that reaches beyond pure entertainment”.
For our audiences, this translates to a well-balanced season that melds
reinterpretations of the best classics with the new Pulitzer Prize winners
and
exciting world premiers from up and coming playwrights.
Visit Stage 3 for a unique theater experience. We look forward to welcoming
you. Questions? Call (209) 536-1778.
